How to Check Your Application Status Online
The IRCC’s platform has a tools which allows you to easily check your application status online. It’s important to note that the tool is not available to all applicants.
Eligibility for the tool depends on the immigration program you applied for.
Eligible Immigration Program for the Tool
- Sponsorship application
- Permanent Residency Application for philanthropic and sympathetic cases
- Permanent Residency Application (outside of Canada)
- Permanent Residence Card Application
What you need to check your status online
In order to check your application online, you’ll be required to provide the following details;
- Identification number
- Full name of the applicant
- Date of birth
- Place of birth

You can also check your application status by putting a call through to the IRCC’s (1-888-242-2100). If you’re staying outside Canada, reaching this number might be a tedious tasks and it can only be accessed by North Americans.
